As a 40+year reporter, I contribute sports, automotive, business and lifestyle articles to several publications. For the past seven years I have written a weekly automotive column (new car reviews and industry trends) for Bay Area News Group (San Jose Mercury News, East Bay Times.) I have edited/published the website https://www.theweeklydriver.com since 2004. And I am a monthly contributor to Gulfshore Business Magazine in Naples, Florida.

I am seeking additional outlets for my weekly new car review column. It's a general-interest review, 600-words, plus exterior and interior independent images, as needed.

I am also a veteran new products reviewer, primarily with mainstream consumer goods.

My name's Hanna Merzbach, and I'm an Oregon-based independent journalist, writer and fact-checker. I write news stories and features about housing & homelessness, the uneven effects of climate change, state politics and anything else that piques my interest. I especially love a solutions story.

My work has been published by The Atlantic, Mother Jones, High Country News, Portland Monthly and more. I'm especially proud of a recent story I did on the dangers of light pollution (https://www.bendsource.com/bend/fight-against-light/Content?oid=16453615) and one I wrote about fire survivors being housed in hotels (https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2021/06/oregon-hotels-wildfire-survivors/619103/).

I also write for university publications and fact-check stories for Eater, Undark and The Appeal.

**I'm currently looking for:

-->consistent writing gigs for university publications

-->short-term producer gigs on podcasts related to my beats
